An American
Black Vulture warming up in the sun. Vultures
spend a great deal of time sunbathing or
taking water baths as despite their feeding
habits they are scrupulously clean birds.
The only area they cannot reach to adequately
clean is the head, and nature assists there
by ensuring there are no feathers on that
area to become covered in gore.
