This photograph 
                                    gives a reasonable look at the feet of this 
                                    bird. Vultures do not have talons like those 
                                    of an owl. Their claws are not specially 
                                    adapted for grabbing live prey, but for 
                                    hopping around on the ground and assisting 
                                    to hold on while they tear into the flesh 
                                    of an already dead animal.
