In many parts
of its native range the Andean Condor is
extremely rare, or has already become extinct.
Without proper protection the rest of these
large birds of prey have a dim future. Unfortunately,
South American legislation is rarely enforced
and would probably have no impact on the
reduction in bird numbers.
