The
Bearded Vulture is also known as
the Lamb Vulture, a name which is
a misnomer as the bird is not known
to kill or attack live sheep.
Because this name is so misleading,
and may cause farmers to shoot the
Bearded Vulture, attempts are being
made to discourage its use.
